The epic Christmas classic returns to the Robinson Stage for one day only this holiday season. The Moscow Ballet’s “Great Russian Nutcracker” will take the stage on Thursday, Dec. 26, at 3 and 7 p.m.
This year marks the 27th annual North American tour of Moscow Ballet’s “Great Russian Nutcracker,” “Swan Lake,” “Romeo and Juliet” and more classic Russian ballets.
You might also see a few familiar faces thanks to the ballet’s Dance with Us program, which allows local ballet students age 7-17 to dance along with professional ballerinas.
The performance features 36 Russian dancers, life-sized Russian nesting dolls, a 15-foot tall Rat King with red blinking eyes, falling snow and plenty more special effects. The production also features a 2-person Dove of Peace with a 20-foot wingspan opening Act II, exclusive to Moscow Ballet.
The performance is 2 hours long and includes a 20-minute intermission. The Moscow Ballet’s take on the story is appropriate for all ages. For more info or to grab tickets, head to the Moscow Ballet’s website.
