Men on a Mission 2026: Dr. Homayoun Pournik

Dr. Homayoun Pournik
Board-Certified Surgeon, Dr. Suzanne Yee Cosmetic & Laser Surgery Center

HOW I KNEW THIS WAS MY PASSION
I’m a perfectionist. If I do something, I want to do it right. In cosmetic surgery, you can’t be mediocre. Choosing the best technique for each patient, then seeing them truly happy afterward — that’s when I knew.

MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
My first career job was as a transplant surgeon at East Carolina University caring for an underserved community. It taught me compassion and that true healing goes beyond the operating room. It’s a patient leaving not just healed, but whole.

BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED
As an intern, I’d slip through the kitchen at 5 a.m. before the doors opened. The chair noticed and became my mentor. His advice is still with me: Don’t be mediocre. Nobody’s perfect, but aim for it. The rest will come.

HOW I UNPLUG AFTER A LONG DAY AT WORK
Soccer, a few nights a week, with a great group here. Otherwise I’m at the Racquet Club, which has one of the best pools I’ve ever seen, or hiking local trails. Little Rock makes it easy to live well.

ONE THING I WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MY COMPANY
Dr. Yee set out in 2003 to do cosmetic surgery differently. Every patient should feel genuinely heard, understood and cared for with world-class treatment. Period. That’s why I joined her practice. It’s how I practice, too.
