Chief Strategy Officer, The Centers
WHAT KEEPS ME COMING BACK TO MY JOB EVERY DAY
The mission of The Centers is one that is easy to believe in. Our purpose, direction and people keep me focused on the common goal. My position with The Centers challenges me to learn, adapt and work with intentionality.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN MY CAREER
The behavioral health field is notorious for presenting challenges in navigating uncertainty and change. We must be flexible and willing to maintain a “forward-thinking” mindset to pivot when barriers are present. Change can present opportunities if we are willing to adapt.
BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED
If you build relationships first, the results will follow. People want to feel like they are valued, and to do that effectively, relationships must be a priority.
BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR
I don’t believe my “bests” can be summed up into one event or moment. My bests come from the day-to-day small victories in client success stories, community involvement/engagement and a team of strong leaders to work alongside.
MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
I did landscaping at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs. I learned quickly what responsibility, accountability and initiative meant. It was not a prestigious job, but it gave me a work ethic I still carry today.
ONE PRACTICE I USE TO MAINTAIN MY MENTAL HEALTH
I have coached my daughters’ travel softball team for many years. I value the time spent together, teaching them how to do something they love, while building relationships with teammates and their families.
