Nick Roach
CEO & President, Stone Bank
MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
Working in a grocery store taught me that even small tasks deserve attention to detail, and a simple smile with a “hello” can positively impact someone’s day. Striving for perfection in every task truly makes a difference.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN MY CAREER
Culturally, we celebrate youth, but it can be a challenge when stepping into a position of leadership. I’ve found that open-mindedness, mutual respect and team-focused mentality help to bridge the generational gap between myself and others in the workplace.
A SKILL I NEVER EXPECTED TO USE IN THIS FIELD
Cage fighting. (Kidding, sort of.) Banking is a wrestling match between navigating the economic landscape, regulatory burden and addressing the needs of our customers and community. It takes strategy, dedication and the right moves to be successful.
