WHAT KEEPS ME COMING BACK TO MY JOB EVERY DAY
2025 will mark Bowen’s 50th anniversary. It’s my job to ensure that Bowen continues to have a talented faculty dedicated to training our exceptional students, most of whom will graduate and go to work serving the legal needs of Arkansans.
MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
Working at a small, independent bookstore, packaging returns. I had to comply with detailed policies that varied by publisher. It could be tedious, but taught the importance of paying attention to detail. And that no work, however unseen, is insignificant.
A SKILL I NEVER EXPECTED TO USE IN THIS FIELD
Thank-you notes. My parents drilled into my sisters and me the importance of thanking those who are generous and recognizing others’ successes. They made us write thank-you notes for any gift or achievement. I use that skill every day.
IN THE DETAILS:
Hometown: Denver, Colorado
Favorite Local Purchase: Raina, the mixed-breed puppy we adopted from the Pulaski Humane Society. The adoption fee was a bargain for all the joy she brings.
Little Rock’s Hidden Gem: Bemis Tree Farm
Sunday Routine: Cooking food for the week ahead. And a nap!
Favorite Local Dish: Park Grill inside AMFA makes a delicious tomato tart that I could eat every day and never tire of.
Hobbies: Reading fiction, bicycling, exercising and soon again, I hope, gardening
