Men on a Mission 2023: Steven Person

LESSON I LEARNED THE HARD WAY
As a young, 20-something year old man, I was deployed to Iraq. It is in those experiences where I learned that each day is a blessing. Every day I am above ground is the best day of my life.

ONE PRACTICE I USE TO MAINTAIN MY MENTAL HEALTH
My daily routine consists of meditation practice. I also love classical music and relaxing outdoors. Thankfully, we are blessed with natural beauty in central Arkansas.

MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
My first job at McDonald’s exposed me to both food and customer service challenges. It instilled the values of hard work and empathy, crucial lessons for a teenager in the workforce.

BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED
The stronger your “why,” the easier your “what,” the clearer your “how.”

WHAT KEEPS ME MOTIVATED
My children drive me to build a better future for them, ensuring they have greater opportunities than I did. I aim to set a foundation for their success with the hope they’ll continue the work for generations to come.
