Men on a Mission 2023: Mac Bell

MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
Working with my grandad, cutting hay on my family’s farm in Howard County. I learned that air conditioning is a privilege, not a right, and when the blackberries are ripe, get off the tractor and pick them.

NONPROFIT I WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT
I wish people knew more about Easterseals. We have a wide spectrum of services that empower people with disabilities to reach their dreams. We are privileged to witness amazing milestones every day, from taking first steps and saying first words, to obtaining a job or securing a home.

WHAT KEEPS ME COMING BACK TO MY JOB EVERY DAY
The people! We serve amazing people who do difficult things with grace and strength. They also have really great families and caregivers. Our donors are supportive and compassionate and the Easterseals team is remarkable to work with every day.

ONE PRACTICE I USE TO MAINTAIN MY MENTAL HEALTH
I go to classes at the Athletic Club. They help me relieve stress and I don’t have to be concerned about the workout plan. I let the instructor worry about that.

ONE THING I WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MY COMPANY
Easterseals is a major employer, over 700 staff, and has been serving Arkansas for almost 80 years. We are a local 501(c)(3), governed by a local board, but are part of a network of 69 affiliates across the nation.
