MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
My first job entailed bagging groceries and performing other duties at a grocery store in my hometown. The job taught me the value of treating customers right and, perhaps more importantly, increased my desire to pursue a college education!
WHAT KEEPS ME COMING BACK TO MY JOB EVERY DAY
Our amazing people and rewarding work! I love working with our passionately engaged employees and stakeholders to responsibly and economically keep the lights on, leading our industry to a brighter future while delivering the best energy value.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN MY CAREER
Winter storm Uri of 2021 presented several days of unprecedented power grid reliability challenges for SPP. Those were the most stressful moments of my career! I’m proud of our organization’s collaborative strength displayed during and after those defining moments.
ONE PRACTICE I USE TO MAINTAIN MY MENTAL HEALTH
I generally avoid letting things “keep me up at night” and don’t allow myself to worry about the things I can’t control.
ONE THING I WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MY COMPANY
