Men on a Mission 2021: Scott Hamilton

HOW I KNEW THIS WAS MY PASSION
I truly knew working with the Urban League fulfilled the career passion I have been seeking when I heard a person repeat to another person the positive impact that they experienced through an Urban League driven program.

MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
Paper route. It taught me accountability, responsibility, money management, entrepreneurship, customer service, punctuality and many other qualities that I use today. At an early age, I began to realize that my destiny was totally up to me.

NONPROFIT I WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT
The Urban League of the State of Arkansas is a 110-year-old organization with an amazing history of helping people attain a higher quality of life through a focus on equity and equality in health, education, housing, employment and social justice.

A SKILL I NEVER EXPECTED TO USE IN THIS FIELD
The ability to take an automobile engine apart and put it back together. This skill set is about focus, appreciation for sequential processes and having the right tools/resources. These allow me to operate under the typical constraints of a nonprofit.
