Men on a Mission 2021: Rev. Cory Anderson

BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR
Every grant we make at the foundation is a career highlight. I know each one gets us closer to an Arkansas where everyone lives in a thriving community, makes a living wage and is able to build generational wealth.

WHAT KEEPS ME COMING BACK TO MY JOB EVERY DAY
The feeling that I’m making a difference keeps me coming back. For over four decades, the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation has worked to make Arkansas a place where everyone can thrive. There’s nothing else I would rather be working towards.

BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN MY CAREER
The ongoing pandemic has disrupted every aspect of our lives and revealed the weaknesses in our economic, educational and social systems. Our state has the chance to build back better so that hard work works for all Arkansans.

THE FIRST THING I DO TO COURSE CORRECT WHEN I HIT A WALL
Find the lesson in the loss. Every challenge we face is an opportunity to learn something new about ourselves and our circumstances. Applying what we’re learning is the only way to accelerate positive changes in this world.

WHAT KEEPS ME MOTIVATED
My faith, family and friends keep me motivated. My faith tells me change is coming. My family reminds me of why change is important, and my friends help me keep my eye on the big things that matter the most.
