Why did you choose to get into financial advising?

Our fascination with the financial markets was born out of our desire to achieve a level of financial understanding and security for our own families, and in so doing, grew to help others with similar concerns. From this genesis sprang a desire to create a better client experience. Our approach led to investment principles that provide clients with a structured plan by which to make and measure sound investment decisions.

What sets yours apart from other firms?

We are committed to providing objective investment advice, free of ties to any single product or service, placing clients’ interests first, offering products and services tailored to clients’ current and future needs. We are small enough to provide the personal service our clients deserve, yet big enough to provide comprehensive financial solutions. Our RIA firm was named one of the Top 100 RIA Leaders by Financial Planning magazine for 2013.

What do you like best about your job?

The feeling that our years of experience results in value-added advice, allowing clients to have a higher comfort level and peace of mind for their long-term financial goals. Individuals entrust us with a lot – their friendship, personal information, etc., but entrusting us with their financial future is the ultimate compliment a client can make. Every time we help someone, we get to rewrite how we look at ourselves.

Do you have a niche clientele?

While we work with many types of clients – individuals, families, retirees and business owners – we enjoy working with those serious about their financial futures. Services these clients benefit from and find helpful are trust, estate and retirement planning solutions.

What makes your customer service outstanding?

By listening, we are able to appreciate where clients are, then map out a flexible strategy, allowing them to achieve their financial goals. This deeper understanding enables us to create a higher level of certainty that clients will meet their goals, thus reducing anxiety. Our service combines financial experience with knowledge to help plan, protect and fulfill clients’ futures, treating clients as we would want to be treated.

What’s your investment philosophy?

Will Rogers once said, “I am not so much concerned about the return on my money as I am the return of my money.” Worded another way, we strive to position our clients so that they may achieve above-average returns without undue risk, which allows them to sleep at night. Our investment philosophy is designed to help turn client goals into reality while minimizing stress and worry.

How many hours do you work a week? 40+

Two hobbies outside of work:
John: Fly fishing, deer and duck hunting
Carrie: art & theatre, skiing and target shooting

Best financial advice you’ve ever been given:  “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Do the necessary research, study and analysis before making any investment decisions.
