What’s an eco-hero?
An eco-hero is someone with vision, drive and tireless efforts to make Arkansas a greener, more economically friendly place to live. Their accomplishments in the fields of sustainability, recycling, agriculture, consulting, environmental education and more are ones to be celebrated.
Over nine issues, our sister publication Arkansas Green Guide has recognized 55 eco-heroes whose work has impacted our state, including Dustin Davis, an architect at Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects here in Little Rock and 2014 LEED Fellow as awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Davis has had a hand in the design of sustainability giants Heifer International headquarters, the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library & Learning Center and the University of Arkansas’s Fred W. Smith Football Center, as well as multiple environmental education efforts, but it all started when he chose to move back home to Arkansas.
