It’s a big year for Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families (AACF), which means the 2017 Little Rock Soup Sunday will be one for the books. In 2017, AACF will celebrate 40 years of helping children and families in Arkansas, and the 36th year of Little Rock Soup Sunday.
AACF’s Little Rock Soup Sunday is a laid-back, casual and family-friendly event featuring soups, breads and desserts from local restaurants. This year’s event on Jan. 29 from 4-7 p.m. at the Statehouse Convention Center will feature soups from 35 local restaurants. Plus, Chris McMillan, chef at Boulevard Bread Company, will be the 2017 featured chef.
Regular admission adult tickets are $25 in advance and $30 after 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27. Tickets for children ages 5-17 are $10 and children younger than 5 are free.
Patron tickets are $50 each ($60 after 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27). Those tickets gain you access to the patron room, where Chef McMillan will prepare a specialty soup. Patron ticket holders receive complimentary beer and wine in the patron room and special desserts that won’t be available in the main ballroom. Patron ticket holders also have access to the main ballroom where the rest of the soups and the live and silent auctions will be.
Proceeds from the event support AACF’s mission to ensure that all Arkansas children and their families have the resources and opportunities to lead healthy and productive lives.
So mark your calendar for a fun night benefitting a great cause. Bring your friends, your family or anyone else who loves soup, breads and desserts, good people, fun music, live and silent auctions and raising money for good causes. And don’t forget your muffin tin!
