One weekend of warm temperatures is all it takes for our minds to be in full-blown springtime mode, and nothing screams “springtime” like fresh produce.
That’s why our calendars are clearly marked for April 12, opening day of the Bernice Garden farmers market in the South Main District. Stop by and get your fill of fresh veggies, fruits, meats and other fresh produce, as well as flowers, cheeses, prepared food and cool artisan items from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Admission and onsite parking is free, of course, and the market continues on Sundays through November.

But for the next month, we’re just going to keep wearing flip-flops, willing springtime to hurry up and commence. It’s mind over matter, frostbite.
