Little Rock Soiree is celebrating 10 years as a publication in March. That’s a decade of people, events, parties, philanthropy, celebrity, stories and more!

We can’t wait for you to read our special anniversary edition, which includes profiles of local do-gooders plus special sections including some of our favorite covers from the past 10 years, 10 of our favorite Day in Little Rock stories and a host of celebrities who’ve shown up in the party pictures of Soiree.
Van and Elizabeth Tilbury are gracing the inside of Soiree this month. The couple is excited to announce the Arkansas Arts Center’s newest fundraising event, Jazzkapelle, on Saturday (March 31). A 1921 drawing by Max Beckmann inspired the party which will mirror the hidden speakeasies from the Prohibition days. For information and to purchase tickets call (501) 372-4000 or visit www.ArkArts.com.
Also this month, Frank and Jane Lyon celebrate the expansion of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging. There will be two grand openings showcasing the expansion; the first will be on Thursday, March 29 and the second on Monday, June 4. For more information about the Institute on Aging visit www.Aging.UAMS.edu.
Retired general and City Year board chair Wesley Clark is gearing up for this year’s Red Jacket Ball in support of Little Rock’s City Year, which unites young people for 10 months of service as tutors and mentors to keep students in school. The Red Jacket Ball will be on Friday, March 30 at the Statehouse Convention Center. For more information and to purchase tickets call (501) 707-1400.
For 10 years Soiree has put people on the cover who support nonprofit organizations who are interesting and sometimes a little feisty. We love our covers each month, but there are a select few that we consider extra fabulous. See our 10 favorites in our Hubbub section.
We wanted to honor those people who’ve been in Soiree either in the party pictures or as profiles, but have since passed away. Our anniversary In Memoriam section profiles 18 local philanthropists and businessmen and women who have left a lasting mark on the community of Little Rock.
Another special section is A Blast From the Past: Celebrity Sightings. We are known for our party pictures, and over the years a few celebrities have snuck into the camera’s path … or we might have sought them out for a coveted photo. Either way, in addition to current parties we’ve added some famous faces into the Party Picture section.
A Day in Little Rock is designed for local writers and aspiring writers to tell about their personal Little Rock experiences. We’ve acquired a lot of favorite tales over 10 years and have chosen a few to share.
We would like to thank all of the people, organizations and advertisers who have supported us for the past 10 years. We would not be here without your support, generosity and dedication to serve the people of Little Rock.
Here’s to another 10! Happy Anniversary, Soiree!
