March of Dimes to Host March for Babies in April

Two babies die every hour in the U.S., and about every 12 hours a woman dies as a result of complications from pregnancy.

The startling statistics are why the March of Dimes hosts the March for Babies, a walk that raises funds to end maternal death and babies born too soon and support moms-to-be and health equity.

The central Arkansas walk will take over the streets of downtown Little Rock on April 4. The route begins at the River Market Pavilions, crosses the Clinton Center Bridge and loops through the wetlands park before ending back at the pavilions.

As of today, the central Arkansas March for Babies walk has raised $49,123 of their $125,000 goal. The money raised from the event will go towards supporting research, advocating for policies, providing resources and programs to help moms throughout their pregnancies and training and educating health professionals.
