Mamie’s Poppy Plates is hosting a remembrance celebration on May 11 to celebrate the lives of babies and children gone too soon. The party will take place from 6-9 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium.
This year’s event will feature a family-style remembrance parade in place of the 5K race at last year’s event. Participants are invited to bring their bikes, scooters and strollers as the group walks in memory of the children.
After the walk, the group will file into War Memorial for an after-party, which will include food, drinks, live entertainment and plenty of activities for the kiddos. Guests are invited to stick around until 9 p.m. for an extra special way to recognize the children before everyone heads home for the night.
Mamie’s is a donation-supported nonprofit with a mission to provide mementos to families who experience stillbirth or infant death. Mamie’s keepsake plates are given to affected families at no charge and are customized with the baby’s footprints, name and birth information.
