This is not a drill. It’s finally happening.
Lush Cosmetics is opening at The Promenade at Chenal this Thursday, July 23.
The eco-friendly, U.K.-based company announced plans to open in The Promenade back in February after its bath bomb pop-up in SoMa last August was a smash-hit success.
The new 2059-square-foot space is the first Lush location in the state and will feature all the cult-favorite bath bombs and handmade cosmetics the brand is known for (think soaps, shower gels, masks, creams, shampoo bars, etc.), all of which are cruelty-free, ethically sourced, vegetarian and contain no synthetic ingredients. The shop will also offer personalized consultations for skincare and hair products.

“We are so excited to open the doors to a brand new store at The Promenade at Chenal,” Lush Director of Retail Elisa Torres says. “While the road to normality is bound to be a little uncertain as the world changes around us, we’re committed to safely and consciously starting afresh together, and look forward to reconnecting with the people of Little Rock, who gave us such a warm welcome last summer.”
The grand opening will, of course, look a little different thanks to COVID-19 precautions. The full in-store experience will be on hold for the time being, but shoppers can buy online for pickup or “walk-up shopping.”
Inside the store, the following protocols will be in place:
- Reduced capacity
- 6-ft. social distance guide markers
- Access to clean sinks and soap for requested handwashing upon entry (no purchase required)
- Contactless payment only
- Sanitized cash desk and debit terminal after each customer
- Regular sanitization of surfaces throughout the shop
- Compulsory hand washing before staff assist different customers
- New product available if customers are not comfortable purchasing package-free or display product on shelves
- Mandatory face coverings/masks for Lush staff and customers
- At this stage, demos will also be paused to maintain hygiene levels
