Local travel advisor Tony Poe of Virtuoso Ltd. recently attended Virgin Galactic’s dedication ceremonies of Virgin Galactic’s new home at Spaceport America.
The flight of WhiteKnightTwo and SpaceShipTwo was the highlight of a spectacular ceremony that featured new scientific and educational advancements for the world’s first commercial space line.
A member of renowned luxury travel network, Virtuoso?®, Mr. Poe of Little Rock, Arkansas was the only local travel advisor to attend the dedication.
“Today is another history-making day for Virgin Galactic,” said Sir Richard Branson. “We are here with a group of incredible people who are helping us lead the way in creating one of the most important new industrial sectors of the 21st century. We’ve never wavered in our commitment to the monumental task of pioneering safe, affordable and clean access to space, or to demonstrate that we mean business at each step along the way.” Branson and his children, Sam and Holly, who will be the first commercial passengers on SpaceShipTwo
A recent press article reported that as Virtuoso’s manager assisting all Virtuoso Accredited Space Agents (ASAs), Tony Poe was among a select group of attendees who received a coveted invitation directly from Sir Richard for the event. Poe joined 34 other ASAs, which are an elite group of Virtuoso travel advisors who were hand-selected by Virgin Galactic to sell seats aboard their suborbital space flights. Virtuoso is the exclusive sales channel for Virgin Galactic throughout the Americas, with 79 ASAs, and anadditional 5 ASAs in Australia.
The reality of commercial spaceflight is upon us. The space has not ended, but has just begun in a new light.
