NFL Draft Picks ‘Blinged Out’ Thanks to Local Jeweler

Talk about cool!

Trish Roberson of Roberson’s Fine Jewelry in Little Rock flew up to New York City last week to help partner Anna Brady-Elko adorn some of the top draft picks at the 2014 NFL Draft with a little bling.

I got a chance to talk to Elko, a diamond concierge to celebrities and pro-athlete clientele, and she gave us the scoop on the special occasion!

Through work in the jewelry industry, Roberson became friends with Elko, a jeweler from New York City who has been working with athletes and celebrities for the last two years. A year ago, Elko said they were looking at different ways to be more creative with their jewelry expertise. So when a big opportunity came along to be a part of the NFL Draft May 8-10 at the Radio City Music Hall, they took it.

“An opportunity was presented to me a couple of weeks ago when I was at the Kentucky Derby,” Elko said, “and [so] I came home and called her and said ‘meet me in New York.'”

At the draft, the two had a special jewelry showcase filled with jewelry from select vendors in the city where players walked through and selected what they wanted to wear.

Three top draft picks found pieces to wear, Elko said: No. 1 draft pick Jadeveon Clowney (Houston Texans), No. 4 Sammy Watkins (Buffalo Bills) and No. 18 Calvin Pryor (New York Jets).

Roberson runs the longstanding jewelry business Roberson’s Fine Jewelry with her husband Steve. At the store, you’ll find a variety of fine fashion and bridal jewelry and high-end watches.

No. 18 Calvin Pryor (New York Jets) was another draft pick who wore some of Elko and Roberson’s jewelry.

Roberson and Elko have become partners who have looked at more ways to be creative with their expertise in the jewelry industry.
