Local Entities Launch Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge

Coinciding with Black History Month, three central Arkansas entities have teamed up to host the inaugural Arkansas 28-Day Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge. The initiative kicked off on Feb. 1 and is coordinated by the Arkansas Peace & Justice Memorial Movement, Just Communities of Arkansas and the UCA Center for Community and Economic Development.

For 28 days, participants are encouraged to engage in activities designed to “educate and help individuals develop more effective racial equity and social justice habits around issues of power, privilege and leadership.”

A mix of daily, self-guided activities and virtual events, the challenge includes weekly storytelling workshops with The Yarn, as well as a Coming to the Table community dialogue on Feb. 4. All programming will be presented in seven categories: advocacy, articles, podcasts, questions, reflections, resources and videos.

The Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge is free and available to anyone interested. For more information, including a full calendar of events, click here.
