It’s a sad day for Kavanaugh. After 18 years of business, Local Colour Gallery is closing its doors.
The Heights gallery, located at 5811 Kavanaugh Blvd., has played host to the works of countless artists over the years, many from here in Arkansas, featuring pottery to pastels and everything in between. Current artists include Dawn Bearden, Jim Johnson, Kristin Hess, Paul Kelly, Rick Van Hook and many more.
Local Colour was known for its affordable original art options and showings throughout the year, including its spring show that was a favorite among locals.
The Local Colour gang is saying goodbye with a closing party tonight, March 5, complete with wine, cheese and specials on art pieces so you can take home a piece of the gallery for good. More on that here.
You still have a few more days to shop, however, as the gallery’s last day is set for March 28. Plus, Local Colour teased on Facebook it might have a few pop-up events up its sleeves in the future, so keep your eyes peeled.
And we’ll keep you posted on what’s moving into the neighborhood next.
