As many of you have heard by now, Lauren Harrison, owner and operator of The Pie Hole food truck, is leaving our fair city next month and is taking her delicious sweet and savory pies along with her to Dallas.
What began with a degree in pastry arts and a 1965 Airstream trailer In Fayetteville turned into a full-blown food truck when she made the move to Little Rock. Harrison and her wares—many of which are her grandmother’s recipes—have become extremely well-loved in the metro (including by us), and we’re all distraught at the news of her leaving.
However, we’re choosing to think positively about this, and instead are dedicating ourselves to indulging in way more slices of pie over the next month, sort of as a last hurrah. And because we know you want to join us, here’s your guide to celebrating and filling your pie hole.
First, let’s start with some staff favorites.
Peaches and Cream
Blueberry Crisp
Nutella Pretzel
White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
Cookie Monster
Signature Cheddar Pear
Tomato
Bacon, Cheddar and Spinach Quiche
Chicken Pot Pie
Roasted Tomato, Basil and Monterey Jack Cheese Quiche
Over the next few weeks, you can find her at Good Earth Garden Center on Sept. 3 from 5-8 p.m., and at the West Little Rock Food Truck Festival on Sept. 19.
Keep track of more locations and times as they’re posted on The Pie Hole’s Facebook page.
“There are so many things I love about owning The Pie Hole,” Harrison told Soirée in 2014. “Typically with pastry chef jobs, you make the food, it goes out the door and you never see the customer. With the truck, I’m able to make pies and see the look on people’s faces when they take their first bite. It is so rewarding to know that the love I put into each pie is returned.”
You’re welcome, Texas.
