Classic Movies at Ron Robinson Theater // The popcorn is flowing once again at the CALS theater in the River Market. Up first is “Blade Runner: The Final Cut” on Thursday, then a BingoFlix 25th anniversary screening of “Charlie’s Angels” on Friday. Showtime is 7 p.m. both nights. Learn more here.

Third Friday Art Walk in Argenta // This monthly walk invites you to stroll through the Argenta Arts District’s lineup of special exhibits and events. Saturday, Jan. 18

Living Craft Saturday at Historic Arkansas Museum // Time for some time travel. HAM’s monthly series gives guests an immersive opportunity to learn about life in the early days of Arkansas. January’s event is all about “the cold, dark days of winter” and how folks lightened things up a bit. Stop by 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Learn more here.

Used Book Sale at Crying Weasel Vintage // Let’s try this again, shall we? After postponing last week, CALS is hosting a pop-up sale at the Hillcrest shop to help you get a jump start on all your 2025 reading goals. Get your bookworm on from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Learn more here. 

Day of Service at McDermott Elementary School // In honor of MLK Day, City Year Little Rock is hosting a hands-on day where volunteers are invited to participate in beautification projects around campus, including painting a new mural. It starts at 12:30 p.m. Learn more here.

Sunday, Jan. 19

Happy Birthday, Dolly at Southern Tail Brewing // On Sunday, the incomparable Dolly Parton will turn a spry 79 years old, and this East Village joint is celebrating in style. Expect a themed brunch, lots of music, costume contests (for both humans and pups) and more. Doors open at 11 a.m. and brunch runs until 3 p.m. Learn more here.

 

Saturday & Sunday, Jan. 18 & 19

“An Unlikely Hero” at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts // Up next for the AMFA Children’s Theatre is this new show set in a school full of heroes, villains and superpowers. Saturday’s packed lineup includes art activities, storytimes, meet-and-greets and, of course, the show. On Sunday, Broadway star and “An Unlikely Hero” director Fergie Philippe will also host a musical theater workshop. Learn more here.

Moving Sale at The Studio Theatre // The downtown theater is preparing for a new (still undisclosed) location, but first, it’s giving the public a fun chance to support the move. Come shop costumes, props, merch, memorabilia and more, and take one last stroll around the space while you can. Shopping hours are noon – 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. – noon Sunday. Learn more here.

Arkansas Cat Show at the Maumelle Community Center // Now this is a purrfectly good way to spend an afternoon. Hosted by the Diamond State Cat Fanciers, this inaugural event promises two days of judged competitions (costumes included), vendors and more. Check it out 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days.
