Little Rock Weekend Guide: Aug. 22-25

We’ve been enjoying those “False Fall” temperatures, but we’re still solidly in summertime with plans to soak in every minute this weekend. Let’s get into it.

Thursday, Aug. 22

Science After Dark: Carnival of Curiosities at the Museum of Discovery // Thursday sounds like a great day to finally run away to the circus. This edition of the MoD’s grownup meetup goes straight to the big top with hands-on activities, games and fire shows all celebrating its founder Bernie Babcock. As always, there will be plenty of pizza and drinks from Stone’s Throw. It all kicks off at 6 p.m. Learn more here.

Chris Stapleton at Simmons Bank Arena // Pass us some of that Tennessee whiskey. The country music star will once again take the NLR stage, serenading the crowd as part of his All-American Road Show. Joining Stapleton are special guests Grace Potter and Allen Stone. Showtime is 7 p.m. Learn more here.

Rooftop Cinema: “Mad Max: Fury Road” at Sixth & Scott // Time for another movie night with a view. Next in the lineup for Rooftop Cinema (the latest evolution of the free Movies in the Park series) is this 2015 flick with a heavy dose of post-apocalyptic madness. Stone’s Throw will be on hand for beer purchases, and you can bring chairs and blankets to spread out and enjoy the view from atop the parking deck. Showtime is at sunset, or about 7:50 p.m. Learn more here.
