In case you haven’t heard, vinyls are making a comeback and have been for quite some time.
Music lovers will convene Saturday (April 19) at Arkansas Record & CD Exchange, 4212 MacArthur Drive, North Little Rock, in recognition of “Record Store Day” 2014, a worldwide event that celebrates the unique culture of independent record stores.
This event from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. invites the public to peruse the store’s massive collection of records, both new and old, and to participate in activities, including an interactive DJ turntable spin and free music giveaways. Special promotional vinyl, CDs and collectibles are made exclusively for Record Store Day and are available for order before the event.
“Record Store Day” began in 2007 to raise awareness about the special role the nation’s nearly thousand independently owned record stores play in their communities. The Arkansas Record & CD Exchange, now hosting its 6th Record Store Day event, is the only participating store in central Arkansas that has taken the pledge.
For 30 years, the Arkansas Record & CD Exchange has supplied central Arkansas with records, CDs, tapes and memorabilia from every era of music and pop culture.
