Last Week to See ‘Clyde’s’ at The Arkansas Repertory Theatre

If you have a busy schedule this weekend, go ahead and clear it. It’s your last chance to catch a viewing of “Clyde’s” at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre. The production will be ending its run Sunday, June 25.

Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Lynn Nottage, whose work often focuses on Black and working-class experiences, “Clyde’s” shows you a glimpse into the formerly incarcerated kitchen staff at a truck stop sandwich shop.

The production is Rated R for adult language and situations but there is plenty of humor to sandwich together the callousness of the owner and the purpose-seeking, sandwich-making staff. Through the telling of their tolls and triumphs, the characters begin to realize that the ingredients for a satisfying sandwich can be just as complex, messy and wonderful as the ingredients for a satisfying life.

Wednesday and Thursday evening performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday evening shows are at 8 p.m. Sunday Matinees performances are at 2 p.m.

Purchase tickets online here, call (501) 378-0405 or visit the theatre Box Office located in The Rep lobby at 601 Main Street.
