Since quarantine began, local Chick-Fil-A restaurants have made it a priority to feed teens and young adults in crisis in the Overcomers program at Immerse Arkansas. To date, they’ve donated more than 500 meals to the organization.

Garbo Hearne, founder and director of Hearne Fine Art in Little Rock, was featured in the May 2020 issue of Harper’s Bazaar as part of Project #ShowUs, a tag-team initiative from Dove, Girlgaze and Getty Images to help diversify the world’s largest photo library with unretouched images shot by female-identifying photographers. Bonus: She celebrated her birthday this week. You go, Garbo.

In news we love, but can’t say we’re surprised by because of how great they are, The Pulaski County Meal Program announced it will open more distribution locations and continue to feed hungry Arkansans throughout the summer. The team behind the initiative includes the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, Arkansas Foodbank, Be Mighty, CALS, City of Little Rock, Clinton Foundation, Go Fresh, Little Rock and Pulaski County school districts, Our House and World Central Kitchen, and they’ve passed out hundreds of thousands of meals since launching on March 14.

And ending on a silly, but heartfelt note, the Downtown Little Rock Partnership gathered some familiar faces to put together a music video parody titled “We Don’t Want the COVID.” Though they made sure to extend their “sincerest apologies” to Billy Joel, we think it’s ridiculous in the best way.
