Just the Good Stuff: Beer, Jets & More of Our Favorite Feel-Good Stories This Week

And now for our favorite weekly assignment. Here are a few of the local stories that put smiles on our faces this week.

 

The Arkansas Heart Hospital got an extra boost of morale with a little help from everyone’s favorite jumpsuit-clad power woman. The original painting depicting Rosie the Riveter in PPE was done by AHH patient care partner Jessica Adkins, and the staff loved it so much, they thought the outside world should see it, too. They were right.

You know their shirts and hats, you’ve seen their branding before, but not like this. Arkansas-based apparel company Nativ answered the call to keep their neighbors safe. When they found out essential workers were in need of masks, the Nativ crew went into their own stash and donated T-shirts to be cut up and made into masks

 

The local brewing community has been hit hard during the pandemic, but now Rebel Kettle has a way to help support its team. They joined in the international beer collaboration by following Other Half Brewing Company’s recipe for a tropical IPA, the proceeds from which will go directly to Rebel Kettle employees affected by COVID-19. We’ll drink to that.

 

On Thursday afternoon, the famed Blue Angels flew over Little Rock this week to honor the health care and essential workers on the front lines of COVID-19 in central Arkansas.
