Junior League Offers Training for Nonprofit Board Members

If you’ve ever been intimidated by the thought of joining a nonprofit as a board member, your list of excuses just got shorter. The Nonprofit Board Institute is back for its sixth year of training attendees on how to become effective nonprofit board members.

Hosted by the Junior League of Little Rock, the NPBI is a five-week course that meets every Tuesday from Sept. 10 – Oct. 8. It’s open to all who are either currently serving on a board or are interested in doing so.

Participants will hear from seasoned experts on a range of topics from basics to branding to grant writing and beyond. Here’s a look at some of the featured topics:

  • Board roles and responsibilities
  • Why trauma-informed nonprofits make bold leaders
  • Fundraising vs. development

Though classes start soon, there are still a few open spots. Attendees can purchase a five-class ticket, which includes training materials and weekly dinners, or individual session tickets.
