In case you didn’t know it, you’re suppose to be ditching the keys this week!
Ozone Action Days, a public awareness program, is leading the charge for “Ditch the Keys” week in an effort to educate the community on the hazards of ground-level ozone ahead of the summer months, during which a rise is seen in ozone levels.
The week of activities started with the Different Spokes exhibit and the Arkansas Bike/Walk Summit at the Old State House Museum on Saturday.
Sunday was “Car-Free” day, and Monday was designated as a day to carpool to work and school. Wednesday is ride the bus to school or work day. The activities lead up to Bike to Work Day on Friday.
To make biking to work easy, 11 convoys have been put together for different parts of the capital city and North Little Rock to take part. There is even a convoy in Conway.
