What influences your design?
Nature. I like organic elements such as wood, marble, silks and fine cottons. Architecturally, I like things to flow. I prefer curves, no sharp edges that block or divide the eye’s view of its surroundings.
Do you have a design specialty?
I enjoy seeking out unique, quality items while traveling the world, both for my own home and for my retail store: International Interior Design. Every design should contain that “wow” factor, something you won’t find in every home.
What’s your favorite current design trend?
I want to create beautiful spaces, so while I pay attention to trends, I don’t let them dictate the work I do for a client, unless that’s their request. Comfort, functionality and excellent quality are my hallmarks.
What’s your design style?
My style is transitional. This allows a homeowner to enjoy their own treasures while combining carefully selected new pieces—from antique to modern. I also enjoy working with new construction, where design elements can be made part of the architecture. The homeowner’s taste and personal items must be reflected in whatever design I choose.
What sets your firm apart?
IID strives to be socially responsible. We feature quality work of artists, artisans, and small family businesses, locally and internationally, using natural, environmentally friendly, fair-trade, and child-labor-free production practices. We also donate 2% of IID profits to local not-for-profits in Arkansas. That’s our way to give back to such a great community!
