What’s your design style/philosophy?
I consider my design style to be livable classic. I believe you should buy quality pieces that will stand the test of time. I also believe your home is one of your largest investments and that you should really live in your house. Finding the right pieces that are functional is what I love to do!
Best advice when buying furniture?
Don’t buy something just to “finish” the room. If you love a piece, buy it. If not, wait until you find the right thing. I’m a researcher and will consider options until I find the right thing. On the other hand, if I am given a deadline, I can certainly get it done!
What influences your design?
I grew up in a family of pickers and collectors. My best friend’s dad was an antique dealer. I was influenced at a young age by all of them. Through the years I have honed my eye when it comes to picking unique items that will blend easily with newer pieces to make an impact.
What’s your favorite current design trend?
I am very excited about the current trend of re-purposing items, and mixing newer pieces with vintage or antique pieces. It gives off an eclectic feel and makes it much more personal to have found the perfect mix of items to fill your home.
What sets your firm apart from others?
I began my design business 11 years ago. In 2007, I started selling Real Estate and now am a Broker and run my own full service real estate company under the same name as my design firm. The variety of what I do each day, keeps things fresh and getting to see so many design styles firsthand in the homes I am helping to buy or sell helps to expand my palette!
