Human Library Comes To Little Rock

The name might sound a little weird, but this could be your new favorite exhibit.

It’s called Human Library, and it arrives in Little Rock on Sunday, April 23. Human Library is a worldwide touring event/exhibit designed to start conversations between people of varying backgrounds and persuasions in effort to breed respect and understanding.

Here’s how it works: “Readers” can peruse the library full of living, breathing, human “books.” Guests can then “borrow” them to have a conversation and learn about each one’s diverse experiences. These “books” include people of various beliefs, origins, struggles and interests, all meant to challenge stereotypes and help guests empathize with their fellow humans.

Human Library will take place from 1:30-4:30pm at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library and Learning Center. The event is put on by the Central Arkansas Library System and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.
