If you’ve been bummed about missing out on this year’s Power of the Purse event, never fear.
The annual Women’s Foundation of Arkansas gathering sold out of tickets back in August, but the organization just announced that you’ll now be able to watch the luncheon from your desk. For the first time, the WFA will livestream the event on its Facebook page.
“The Power of Purse is an amazing platform where we are able to raise awareness of WFA initiatives and recognize Arkansas women who are making strides in their field,” WFA Executive Director Anna Beth Gorman said.
Virtual attendees will also be able to help the WFA reach its goal of raising $30,000 by texting WomenAR (no spaces) to 41444 to donate.
Created to celebrate the power and potential women across the state, this year’s event will honor Shayla Copas as Woman of the Year in Philanthropy, Betty Clark Dickey as First Lady’s Woman in Public Service and Sharon Tallach Vogelpohl as Woman of the Year in Business.
Guests (and livestreamers) will also hear from keynote speaker Krista Bourne, who oversees a twelve state market for Verizon Wireless, is a director for the Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Greater Houston Partnership’s Executive Women’s Partnership.
The Power of the Purse broadcast will begin at 11:30 a.m. and last through 1 p.m. Keep an eye on the WFA Facebook page for the video.
