Summer isn’t officially summer until you’ve taken a trip to Hot Springs. From lazy mornings on the lake to afternoon strolls down Central Avenue to nights on the town, we’ve curated a list of some of our favorite spots in the Spa City.
ON THE LAKE
Hitch up your boat or rent one for the weekend. Either way, a day on the water is a must in Hot Springs.
Hot Springs Marina has been serving Lake Hamilton boating needs for 11 years and is known as much for its friendly service as for its beautiful rental boats. Whether you need life vests, towable tubes or afternoon snacks on the water, Hot Springs Marina has you covered. Boat owners can find replacement parts and service right on the lake, and boat slips are also available for summer rental.

SHOPPING
Hot Springs has a great assortment of local galleries and shops throughout town where you’ll always find something special to take home. Here are three of our must-stop shops.
Bathhouse Soapery offers the most amazing handcrafted soaps, bath and body products that are all created right there in Hot Springs. Prepare to find your new favorite scent.

The Savory Pantry is a great stop for gifts, but somehow we always leave with a new candle for ourselves whenever we stop in. The Hudson Standard Raspberry Verbena Shrub syrup is a must. Try it as a topping over vanilla ice cream and thank us later.

DINING OUT
Let’s be honest. It’s all about the food, and Hot Springs never disappoints.
La Hacienda is a Hot Springs staple. Their margs and flaming queso have never let us down and we don’t think they’re about to start now.

Superior Bathhouse Brewery offers the world’s only thermal water beer and we are big fans. If beer isn’t your thing, check out their root beer floats and the local farm-to-table eats offered at lunch and dinner.

The Pancake Shop is a breakfast-lover’s dream. At least one morning spent at this award-winning restaurant is a must, and be sure to take home a jar of their famous apple butter.

ENTERTAINMENT
Not a lake person? Don’t fret. Hot Springs is full of activities from strolling the paths at Garvan Woodland Gardens (be sure to check out the new kid-friendly tree house!), visiting the many museums in town or slowing down at the spas on Bathhouse Row.
But if you’re looking for adrenaline, head to Oaklawn. August may be missing the ponies, but sports betting is now available in Arkansas and only at Oaklawn. Plus, gaming is always open and every Friday night in August brings the chance to “Bust the Bank,” meaning you could go home with the grand prize of $10,000 cash. Yes, please.
