Let the good times roll, Little Rock. No matter how you want to celebrate Fat Tuesday, the capital city has something fun for everyone. Put on your best purple, green and gold and celebrate the excess and indulgence that is Mardi Gras with our list of eats, sweets and sips from around the city. Ain’t no shame in this fat game.
First things first: Here’s where to get your king cake fix in Little Rock.
Cypress Social // Get your taste buds and beads ready because Cypress Social is doing its annual dip into Cajun seafood this Fat Tuesday from 4-10 p.m. The special menu includes crawfish and shrimp etouffee, redfish pontchartrain, Louisiana beer flights and frozen hurricanes. More info here.
The Faded Rose Restaurant // Fill up on food and flavor this Fat Tuesday at one of the city’s most famous Cajun and Creole restaurants as it kicks off crawfish boil season with some Mardi Gras flair. More info here.
Community Bakery // Grab a beautifully decorated Mardi Gras-themed cupcake, cookie or SoMardi Gras mocha at Community Bakery. And yes, they still have king cakes. More info here.
Sterling Market // So this is how royalty sips. The Mardi-tini combines New Orleans spirits with king cake rum for a limited edition cocktail that’ll make you wish every Tuesday was Fat Tuesday, not to mention its Mardi Gras doughnuts.
The Pizzeria // The dessert menu at this Kavanaugh joint never disappoints, especially the pie lineup, and that goes double for king cake pie they’re currently serving up.
Stone’s Throw Brewing // The MacArthur Park brewpub is joining the Mardi Gras fun this year with a limited run of its Biere d Gras ale. More info here.
Eat My Catfish // This restaurant is spreading the love across all its locations with a full lineup of Cajun food and fun. More info here.
Maddie’s Place // New Orleans grub is always on the menu at this Riverdale restaurant, so you know where to go if you want a taste of the pros. More info here.
Big Orange // Both locations are getting in on the Mardi Gras fun with king cake shakes filled with Yarnell’s vanilla and blended king cake topped with — you guessed it — another slice of king cake. More info here.
Zaza Fine Salad + Wood-Oven Pizza Co. // You can always cure your sweet tooth with a scoop of Zaza’s iconic gelato. The day’s featured flavor is Mardi Gras-themed, of course, with real king cake bites. More info here.
The Rail Yard // The NOLA vibes are strong with this all-day menu featuring catfish po’boys, Hanger Hill Punch, music, games and menu specials. More info here.
Loblolly Creamery // SoMa is the unofficial Mardi Gras headquarters, so it’s no surprise so many of its restaurants are joining in the fun. For Loblolly, that means limited-edition, king cake-flavored scoops. More info here.
Hill Station // Batten down the hatches, y’all, it’s hurricane season. Come get a glass and load up on some NOLA gumbo while you’re at it. More info here.
