Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival Releases Key Highlights and Special Guests

The 23rd Annual Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival is teasing us with some exciting details about the upcoming event. 

The Academy Award-qualifying festival recently announced that “Glen Campbell…I’ll be Me” will open the HSDFF. The fill was directed and produced by

James Keach and produced by Trevor Albert, of “Walk The Line” and “Groundhog Day” fame respectively. After the showing, there will be a reception and Q&A with the filmmakers and Campbell’s wife and children, who appear in the film.

The festival will close with a showing of “To Be Takei,” the story of George Takei from a WWII internment camp, to the starship Enterprise, to Internet superstardom. Takei will also be present for a Q&A after the film.

Other featured visitors include actor-turned-director Luke Wilson, actresses Joey Lauren Adams and Tess Harper, former Olympic Diving Champion Greg Louganis, producer/director Harry Thomason, Arthur Agee of Hoop Dreams, illusionist James Randi and more.

The HSDFF will hit the spa city Oct. 10-19 at the Arlington Hotel and Spa in downtown Hot Springs. Check out their site for more information.
