Historic Arkansas Museum Launches 3rd Saturday Educational Event Series

Arkansas history lovers, you have a new favorite day of the month.

The Historic Arkansas Museum in downtown Little Rock is launching a new educational event series titled 3rd Saturdays that, yes, will take place on the third Saturday of each month. The series is designed to give guests an immersive opportunity to learn about life in the early days of the state’s history, with each installment based around a set theme.

The inaugural 3rd Saturday takes place Bear Grylls-style on Jan. 15 and will center around surviving harsh winter conditions in 1847 Little Rock. Guests will take part in hands-on activities and demonstrations, as well as hear from in-character HAM staff as they prepare for the winter months in the mid-19th century.

The event lasts 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the museum at 200 E. Third St., and is included in the purchase of a grounds tour.

Learn more about HAM on the museum’s website and follow along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest.
