We’re all screaming for ice cream in this uncomfortably humid central Arkansas weather. Lucky for us all, the Hillcrest Merchants Association will be hosting its First Thursday Ice Cream Social on July 5.
Come one, come all for free ice cream in the Crest Park area in front of the Hillcrest Kroger from 6-7 p.m. While guests enjoy their frozen treats, the Quapaw Quarter Brass Quintet and the Montessori Children’s House Choir will provide the entertainment. In addition to ice cream, local businesses will be providing popcorn, lemonade, cookies and hand-held fans, since it will be July in the South.
“The Hillcrest Merchants Association puts on the Ice Cream Social every year on the first Thursday closest to the 4th of July,” Hillcrest Merchants Association president Shaun Greening says. “It is a very fun and patriotic event and the children who attend seem to really enjoy it.”
