One thing the South is known for is its food, and rightfully so. Every gathering is based around food. We devote whole festivals to our favorite dishes. Southern food is a way of life.
But that’s not always the case for everybody.
No Kid Hungry is an annual event dedicated to ending childhood hunger by raising funds and awareness of the cause. Each year, South on Main’s Chef Matt Bell hosts a multi-course dinner featuring dishes from some of the region’s finest chefs.
And because you know we can’t help ourselves, here’s a sneak peek at this year’s menu:
Appetizers:
- by Ben Brainard of Yellow Rocket Concepts, Little Rock
First Course:
- Roasted Gulf Oyster with horseradish, parmesan, oyster bread pudding
- by Kelly English of Restaurant Iris and The Second Line, Memphis
Second Course:
