Here’s Your Filmland 2019 Rundown

Over the past month, we’ve received updates and bits of information about what to expect at this year’s Filmland. Now, just days away from the third annual film festival, we have the full lineup of screenings, speakers, Hollywood names and after-parties across the city.

Here’s your guide to Filmland 2019.

 

Aug. 21

  • 6:30 p.m. – “Men and Women of Distinction: Mike Beebe” screening at Ron Robinson Theater
  • Prior to the showing, the ACS will pay special tribute to Matt DeCample.
  • Following the movie – Q&A with Mike Beebe and ACS executive director Kathryn Tucker
  • 8 p.m. – After party at Sonny Williams

 

Aug. 22

  • 6 p.m. – “Justitia” and “Ensemble” short film premieres by Filmmaking Lab for Teen Girls participants
  • 6:30 p.m. – “Troop Zero” screening
  • Following the movie – Q&A with Jeff Nichols, writer Lucy Alibar and director BERT
  • 9:30 p.m. – After party at Buenos Aires Grill with Dazz & Brie

Aug. 23

  • 6:30 p.m. – “Free Solo” screening
  • Following the movie – Q&A with Academy Award-winning producer Evan Hayes and ACS board member Jayme Lemons
  • 9 p.m. – After party at The Rail Yard with A Rowdy Faith

 

Aug. 24

  • 11:30 a.m. – The Directors Panel discussion featuring Jeff Nichols, Andrew Stanton and Joel Edgerton
  • 1:30 p.m. – Arkansas Shorts (part one)
  • 3 p.m. – Arkansas Shorts (part two)
  • Following the screenings – Conversation with Arkansas filmmakers

  • Following the movie – Q&A with Jeff Nichols and director Joel Edgerton

Aug. 25

  • 2:30 p.m. – “Toy Story 4” screening
  • Following the movie – Q&A with Jeff Nichols and writer Andrew Stanton

  • 6 p.m. – “Stranger Things: Season 2, Ep. 5 & 6” screening
  • Following the screening – Q&A with Jeff Nichols and director Andrew Stanton
  • 9 p.m. – After party at Lost Forty with Brae Leni and the Blackouts

  

The organization’s mission is to “[build] a film community in Arkansas where film lovers can watch films, share ideas, connect with each other and nurture the new and existing film talent within our state through increased exposure to filmmakers and their art.”
