Help Loblolly Creamery Win a New Truck

The Wells Fargo Works Project is a contest wherein small businesses can submit their stories for the chance to win $25,000 to go toward whatever needs they have to be filled. Unsurprisingly, submissions have flooded in from all over the country, hoping to get enough online votes before July 19 to take home the big bucks—kind of like “Shark Tank,” but America gets to vote.

Well, guess what, Mark Cuban? We’ve got a dog in this fight.

Our very own Loblolly Creamery put in a submission with the hopes of coming home with a more efficient delivery truck. We all love the retro blue-and-white ice cream truck, but with a growing brand, the staff has been stuck making deliveries around the state in their own cars, packed with dry ice to keep everything from melting.

“We hope to improve our systems and logistics so that we can still work out of our tiny little manufacturing kitchen, but provide cold, frozen, delicious ice cream to restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and consumers all over Arkansas,” said owner Sally Mengel in their submission video.

And while we may want to keep every gallon to ourselves, we can’t deny the cries of our fellow Arkansans for Loblolly. You have our vote.
