Career goal: I plan to major in civil or environmental engineering while also minoring in Japanese. I’m interested in studying how man-made structures have influenced and been influenced by the growing threat of climate change. I also want to be more of a global citizen and work to understand the values of people from different cultures and how those values affect their views on climate change.
Tell us about the teacher, coach or administrator who made a difference in your life: Dr. Lindsey Waddell was my oceanography and environmental science teacher as well as my Ocean Bowl coach, and she has been influential in providing me the resources and motivation to further explore the broad field of environmental sciences. Over the past two years, I have learned about how every part of the Earth is interconnected and the journey has led me to befriend people I would’ve never met.
