“Hateful Things” Exhibit Opening

The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center opened its “Hateful Things” exhibit with a presentation by David Pilgrim, founder and director of the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia. A collection

that traces the stereotyping of African Americans from the late 19th century to the present, the exhibit is one of the Jim Crow Museum’s traveling shows and visited the MTCC in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Elaine Massacre. The night also featured pianist Linda Holzer performing “Fantasie Negre,” a piece Little Rock native Florence Price wrote in 1929, often believed to have been written in remembrance of the massacre.
