H.A.M. Celebrates Victory of Ham Independence with What Else? Free Ham!

After being crowned king of the ham world this summer, Hillcrest Artisan Meats of Little Rock is sharing a slice of its prize with the very people who helped make this victory happen – you.

H.A.M., co-owned by Brandon Brown and his wife, Tara Protiva-Brown, won the La Quercia Ham Independence contest for the second consecutive year this past July after its customers voted them number one. Read our story about the competition here.

Brown and his daughter, Abi, just came back from Iowa where they picked up their winnings: a humongous acorn-fed Tamworth proscuitto, aged three years. Judging from this photo, this leg looks legit.

We’re told they’ll be giving away samples of this prize ham until it’s gone and it sounds like it’s going fast!

H.A.M.is located at 2807 Kavanaugh Blvd, Suite B, and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The Hillcrest shop provides locally-sourced, natural and organic meats and charcuterie products.
