Guess Where Arkansas Ranked on the Thanksgiving Misery Index

Well Arkansas, we always knew this holiday meant a lot to us. We know how to appreciate the finer things in life like good food, good company and even better naps.

It took long enough, but the rest of America has finally noticed how well we do Thanksgiving.

According to data rummaged up by the real estate app Estately, Arkansas ranks among the top five states with the happiest Thanksgivings.

Actually, least miserable would be more accurate. Estately’s study was titled the “Thanksgiving Misery Index,” a ranking for the most miserable states (yikes) and we ranked 48th (yay!). This is one list where we don’t mind being at the bottom.

The cause? It’s all based on stats concerning a few of the biggest holiday bummers: salmonella, binge drinking and NFL fan hissy fits. They lined these up next to some Facebook user data on dietary preferences and Black Friday excitement and voila. Happiness.

And because we know you’re curious, here are the other states living at the ends of the spectrum.

Happiest:

  • Hawaii
  • New Mexico
  • Arkansas
  • Utah
  • New Jersey

Most Miserable:

  • Ohio
  • Iowa
  • Pennsylvania
  • Arizona
  • Wisconsin

Congrats, y’all.

And somebody get Ohio a puppy or something, sheesh.
