After postponing last spring and scaling back festivities in the fall, the International Greek Food Festival has announced it will once again host its deliciousness curbside in October 2021.
On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1-2, hungry locals can pick up their pre-ordered dishes via drive-thru at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days. Just like last year, you can get your fill of favorites like gyros, baklava, spanakopita and loukoumathes by ordering online, which will officially open two weeks before the event.
Now in its 37th year, the fest traditionally hosts hundreds of guests, serving up Greek eats alongside live music, entertainment, church tours and an “old world” market. For the second year in a row, the in-person activities are off the menu thanks to ongoing coronavirus concerns.
As always, organizers remain committed to helping local nonprofits, having donated more than $1.5 million dollars to more than 30 charities in its history. Proceeds from the 2021 event will benefit Community Connections, Easterseals Arkansas, Centers for Youth and Families, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas, Wolfe Street Foundation, Youth Home, Arkansas Foodbank and the Humane Society of Pulaski County.
