The stats aren’t easy to stomach. Heart disease, a condition often thought of solely in regard to men, is the cause of one in three deaths for women every year, killing approximately one women every 80 seconds.
The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women is on a mission to recruit people to join the fight against heart disease and stroke in women. The campaign includes education materials, support networks and even a quarterly health and fitness challenge.
Now you have a chance to join the recruitment efforts. Friday, Feb. 2, is National Wear Red Day. The American Heart Association is calling for people everywhere to #GoRed and help spread the word and drive the conversation about the number one killer of women.

If you’re interested in getting more involved, the annual Go Red For Women Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 18, at the Little Rock Marriott. Click here for more information.
For now, however, bust out the red on the first Friday in February and blow up the #GoRed hashtag. And you can always go to GoRedForWomen.org and donate to raise funds for awareness and research.
Look for us in red.
