Let’s say you were given a character, a prop, one line and a genre to create a film in 48 hours. What would you do?
A few weeks ago, that’s exactly what several Arkansas filmmakers were tasked with accomplishing as part of The 48 Hour Film Project. The filmmakers were given one character, either Zoltar or fortune teller Zelda Nickelson, one prop, either a journal or a diary, and one line, either “It’s fantastic! I love it,” or “It is fantastic. I love it.”
The filmmakers then drew a genre from a hat. From there, they were off to create a film in 48 hours.
What was created in those two days will be shown this weekend in screenings at the Ron Robinson Theater.
The first round of screenings is set for tonight (Friday) at 7. The second and third rounds will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets to the screenings are $10 and can be purchased here.
On July 19, the film project will hold a Best of Screening, also at the Ron Robinson Theater, to showcase the top 10 films and hand out awards for categories like Best Use of Character, Prop and Line, Best Musical Score, Best Cinematography, Best Actor and Actress, Best Directing and Best Film.
Tickets to that screening are $12 and can be purchased here.
